The Autumn Leaves Studio Tour is gearing up — Oct. 4, 5 & 6th   from 10 – 5 each day.  Please take some time out of the weekend to stop in – we’d love to see you —  We are “G” on the map – on the outskirts of Walters Falls –  🙂

Chris and I have been pretty busy in the workshop –  you’ll see a whack of new and interesting Furniture/accessories and Art –

This ‘Secret Cubby’ in our Barn Beam Console Table is not for the faint of heart!   Feel free hide your most prized possession behind that 100 year old SPIKE!!

The 2019 Art Show season is taking shape — Our studio is open most days by chance or appointment. We are thrilled to be showing our work at the amazing  Heartwood Home in Owen Sound and we are included in the Walters Falls Group of Artists Show and Sale in late August – as well as the Autumn Leaves Studio Tour in early October.    Feel free to contact us before arriving to ensure we are onsite.  info@oldsoul.ca

Chris and Arlene Saunders welcome you to their creative space in the lovely Grey Highlands. You’ll find furniture and accessories made from reclaimed wood and metal – items using found material and interesting artifacts for indoor and out! Pair that up with paintings (watercolour, acrylic, and mixed media – local scenes and architectural compositions) and kinetic sculpture. Commissions are welcome.

We had a wonderful weekend at the Fine Craft Christmas show in Owen Sound.   As we hoped — our new kinetic sculptures were a hit… some designs almost sold out —    take a look at the variety —  send in suggestions and we will custom make your own design.    Here are a few pics of them in production.

Old Soul is on the road again this weekend.  We’ll be heading down the hills to Clarksburg, ON.   It is Artsburg weekend –  30 Artists – live demos – Edible Art & more.  NOTE: the Paint Battle at the Marsh Street Centre (Friday night) has been postponed until the fall –    Check out  http://www.artsburgday.com  for all of the information!

Old Soul has been invited to participate in the inaugural Durham Artsfest – Friday July 13 and Saturday.   We’ll be part of the action – set up in a storefront in the beautiful town of Durham ON.   —   come and join in the fun !

The Durham BIA, Durham Art Gallery and Durham West Grey Lions are pleased to present the inaugural “Durham Arts Fest – Art Becomes the Neighbourhood” on Friday and Saturday, July 13 and 14, 2018.

In a June 21 media release, storefronts will be full of artists from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Lions will host a beer garden and barbecue on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Queen Street South will be closed off for a street dance party featuring live music by local group, Higher FunKtion, on Saturday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

“The idea was to present a summer promotion that was different from our usual Sidewalk Sale,” said Michele Bossi of the Durham BIA. “So we thought, why not use a local asset – the large number of wonderful artists – to fill the downtown and beyond and have the whole promotion be a town-wide pop-up gallery,” she added.

Businesses are being asked to host an artist or two in their existing storefronts, if room permits, and have the artists create a mini-gallery in the store for the two-day event. “As well,” added Bossi, “we have approached the owners of the empty stores with the hopes of filling these buildings with artists and their vibrant artworks for the two days.”

The street will be alive with tables and chalk drawings and free arts and crafts for the whole family.

Culminating into the street dance party Saturday night, the street party will have fun and games for everyone from 5 p.m. onwards and the Lions Club beer garden and barbecue will be held in the municipal parking lot from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. The street party is a fundraiser for the newly restored Heritage Walkway Bridge and attendees are asked to bring loonies and toonies, or more, to donate.
